Worker's Compensation

If you are injured on the job or “in the course of your employment”, you should be covered by your employer’s worker’s compensation insurance.   Maine law requires your employer provide insurance to compensate you or your family if you are injured while at work.   Your employer cannot deny you the opportunity to file a claim.  In most cases, you file the claim without the assistance of an attorney.  However, if you are denied coverage we can assist you in an appeal.   Additionally, some work place injuries often involve the negligence of someone not employed with the same employer as yours, or the injury may be due to a defective piece of equipment.   In those cases, worker’s compensation insurance will provide coverage, AND you may be entitled to more compensation than worker’s compensation insurance provides by pursuing a separate personal injury claim.

If you are injured on the job or “in the course of your employment”, call Marchese & Associates, P.A...  We can advise you about your rights under the worker’s compensation laws, as well as assist in obtaining the compensation you deserve.
